Protocols.io is a public web platform for creating, versioning, and storing scientific protocols. SPARC maintains a workplace on this platform to facilitate the development of FAIR protocols by SPARC investigators with support from the SPARC Curation team.
Each protocol can be kept private or made public. Protocols can be copied to create a new version of the same protocol. Versioning allows the ability to update protocols as methods evolve while still supporting method reproducibility. Protocols can be run from the website with a checklist functionality that makes it easy to follow each step and record experimental changes.
