Researchers who are not part of a supported consortia are invited to contribute their research outputs to the SPARC Portal. This community is comprised of researchers that work at the interface of the body and the brain, mapping the neural circuits that connect the central nervous system to the heart, lungs, gut, bladder, and other organs, and characterizing how electrical and chemical signals traveling along these pathways influence health and disease.

These scientists come from many institutions, disciplines, and funding sources, and are not bound together by a shared grant or mandate. What unites them is a shared choice: to make their data, models, and tools openly and FAIRly available to the broader scientific community by publishing on the SPARC Portal, free of access charges. By contributing anatomical maps, functional datasets, computational models, and experimental protocols, these researchers help build a connected, queryable resource that accelerates discovery and supports the development of next-generation therapies for neuromodulation and bioelectronic medicine.
