NINDS Preclinical CDE/Data Standards Webinar Series

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke is happy to announce the Preclinical Common Data Elements (CDE)/Data Standards Webinar Series. This webinar series is designed to provide researchers and stakeholders with valuable information about preclinical common data elements (CDEs) and data standards, current state of knowledge in different subject areas as well as essential tools that support data harmonization, enable more robust cross-study comparisons and analyses, and facilitate data sharing and translational challenges within the scientific community.

The primary objective for developing preclinical common data elements (CDEs) is to produce a well-defined lexicon for describing and reporting how preclinical data are collected with the goal of enhancing rigor, reproducibility and transparency in study performance. The goal of CDEs is to develop a tool to improve standardization of data collection such that experimental details and procedures are reported in a standard transparent manner that allows for rigor and reproducibility. Additionally, it is important for data to be collected, reported and curated in a standardized manner and format that will allow researchers to share data across sites and reuse data for either secondary analyses or big data analyses.

PRECISE-TBI: Tools to improve rigor and reproducibility of preclinical TBI research

During this webinar, experts from PRECISE-TBI will guide you through a range of resources available to the preclinical TBI research community. We’ll showcase PRECISE-TBI tools, explore Preclinical TBI Common Data Elements (CDEs), and offer strategies for utilizing CDEs in the Publication of the Future. In addition, you'll discover how open data sets can reveal new insights—demonstrated in a case study focused on enhancing rigor and reproducibility by leveraging data across institutions.

To wrap up, we’ll host a lively panel discussion highlighting tools and approaches that can help improve the quality and reproducibility of preclinical TBI research.

Distinguished Speaker Panel
